THE CHEEKS – NEWSLETTER `08

The CHEEKS are well known for their musical surprises, so don’t expect to get the same you received last time !
Right after releasing the highly praised, circa. 1967
style pop-pychedelia masterpiece RAW COUNTRYSIDE , the boys’n’gurls are back with a record that’s quite different.

On their latest Vinyl EP – I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER – the band locked away the acoustic guitars, the oboes and the cembalos in favour of loud and gritty, rough and dangerous Fuzzguitars. (with special guest Lana Loveland of the fabulous Fuzztones on organ !)

After having survived an extended tour through Italy and Germany in autumn 2007, they feel honoured to welcome “organ-god” Sören Tesch (Teenage International Music / Schwarz auf Weiss) within their ranks.

• December last year the band recorded three new
  songs, live at the “Hörwerk” studio Bremen.
  Two of these songs will appear exclusively on a
  “Single Club” – 7” on CopaseDisque in August /
  September this year.

• further exclusive Tracks already recorded for the next
  “Fuzztones Tribute” sampler, a CD for Greece
  60tis magazine “Rumble Skunk” and Spanish Label
  “Bon Vivant Records”…

• in August we start to record our next album at the
  “Hörwerk” studio Bremen.

• Spain tour from September the 5th until the 21st,
  on our way some shows in Switzerland and the
  south of France ! – a new exclusive release will
  definitely be available for the tour !!

• Italian tour – designated for November / December
  this year.
